The fortune cookie that came with today's meal
didn't come with a fortune.
Therefore, I couldn't add:
"in bed"
to make a happy ending
out of what I'm sure now isn't a fairy tale
unless it's one of Grimm's.
We laugh at this
but never at the story
of friends who haven't been intimate
in two years
and we sit
and think:

"That's not us."
